Windows 7 – Restore Default Desktop Gadgets

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to restore the default desktop gadgets, in case you deleted / uninstalled some of them and now you decided that you want them back. In Windows 7 you will not need to search online to install them back again. So in this tutorial I’m going to delete some of them and then I’m going to show you how easy it is to get them back.

So just right click on your desktop and select Gadgets

You will see this window

These are all the gadgets installed on your machine, on this machine I only have the default ones, not much of a gadget fan, so I’m going to delete some of them as you can see in the following snapshot

So I’m left with only these 4 Desktop Gadgets. Now one of your friends told you, hey Gadgets are cool man, so you…. Wanting to appear cool tool, you decide that you want to use Gadgets tool, but you deleted them… so here comes Windows 7 to the rescue.

All you have to do is open the control panel

Click on Appearance and Personalization

Now, amongst other stuff you see:

All you have to do is click Restore desktop gadgets installed with Windows. Now you will see all your beloved Gadgets again, all ready to be used… Mr. Wanna Be Cool Boy J

As you can see on that window it says All Windows and administrator installed gadgets have been restored.
