Your life doesn't make a difference.

17%
83%

At the end of the day, at the end of your life, you are just a memory. The things that you've done are inconsequential and you don't make a difference. Life goes on whether you are here or not, whether you do something or don't.

You can change the world, but you still haven't made a difference. You are still dead and just a memory at the end of time. What is the point of everything we do? Nothing. Everything is pointless and irrelevant.

Agreed. In the end, we are all only memories.

absolutely true!
thats why people want to believe in religion because it promises "after-life". in most religions , this life is nothing but a small stage that after it--->IMMORTAL LIFE

anyways, its kind of depressing to know that 100 or 1000 years from know everything you did is nothing. but we humans just want to live, "survival". we live because we arnt dead yet

My life does make a difference in my family. If I were not here to help raise and teach my daughter how to be a compassionate, loving, caring and giving person then I would not have my own heirloom to pass down to generations of family. Our children are our heirlooms in life! We are just as important we make a difference we make that footprint in life forever!

Your existence touches everyone you come in contact with. You may never know how or why, but it does. That's why a kind word or a smile goes a long way. Everyone has it in them to have a good, productive life. It's seeing that possibility within them that can be hard sometimes.

Ever hear the starfish story about the lady on the beach throwing them back in the water one by one? The starfish had all washed ashore and were drying out in the sun. A man came up to her and said "What are you doing? There are hundreds of them. You throwing a few back in won't make a difference."

And the lady smiled at him, as she picked one up, saying " It does to this one!" as she threw it in the water.

We can make a difference. Us being here and how we live our lives does make a difference. Maybe just to one person but we do, and what we do could mean everything in the world to them. :)

Tell that to the following people.

Susan B. Anthony, the woman who had a strong influence in women getting the vote.

Issac Newton, had a huge influence on modern physics, as did Einstein.

James Watt, invented the steam engine, which had a colossal impact on transport well into the modern era.

Martian Luther King Jr. Nuff said.

It depends on what you do, your life is what you make it. If you believe at the end of the day, your actions are only memories, there's not a whole lot of motivation to make a difference in the world you live in.

You should go see, "It's a Wonderful Life" and apply it to your life. You'll be amazed at the impact you have on other people's lives.

"Its just a drop in the Bucket." but, every drop counts, right? If you didn't have that drop, there wouldn't be as much water in that bucket as there was before. If you take out all the drops, there is no water.
What you do, matters. You affect everyone around you. Things constantly change, you change, and you manipulate the world. You influence people, they influence you, you change, initiate, and destroy events. There are innumerable cases of individual people changing the world. Einstein, Newton, Darwin, Lyell, in the scientific community alone I've only mentioned four out of thousands of people. That is only science alone, what about art? Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, etc. Medicine? Religion? Politics? Philosophy? How can we say that what we do doesn't matter, that it doesn't count towards the water in the bucket? We have so many individuals who have changed the world. They may have just ended up as 'memories,' but they have left lasting legacies, art that is still studied, military maneuvers still considered relevant and daring, political gambits called brilliant, scientific principles that are tested, approved, and applied, every single day of our lives. Why can't it be you next?

I think the things we do, do matter. The things we do now, sets off a chain of events that changes things down the line, without us doing one thing, that thing down the line wouldn't happen, something else would.

I think everything we do makes a difference and matters. What would be the point if not?
